Seven Conspiracies the Zionist Imperialist Controlled Media Does Not Want You to Know By Alex Dashevsky
Shortly after September 11, as the haze and shock of the terrorist attacks began to clear, many Americans asked themselves a simple question: Why do the Arabs hate us? Americans could not understand the dancing in the streets from Baghdad to Ramalla. Weren't we the nation that saved the world from communism? That rescued the Islamic Albanians from being massacred in Kosovo? That pushed both Arafat and Barak to the bargaining table in Camp David of 2000, where President Clinton arm twisted Barak into offering Arafat 97% of what he wanted? Many Middle Eastern scholars have been warning us about this far before September 11th. They argue that Arabs have long felt that the arrogant American media didn't listen to them, and that the dancing they saw in the streets should be a wake up call to us. These scholars believe we are suffused in our own biased media to the point that we cannot understand what we've done to cause such hatred. This columnist took this advice to heart, and will listen. I will put down the New York Times and Washington Post, and from now on read the Arab papers, where the real truth is. In doing so, I uncovered seven major conspiracies that the US media never reported.
During my research, I discovered that Middle East Papers vary little from country to country. Even in America, broadsheets such as the Village Voice, Wall Street Journal, and New Republic are filled with every possible view imaginable, not to mention the internet, led by hybridmagazine.com, the Drudge Report, etc. The Middle Eastern Papers don't focus on such unimportant issues to people's lives as access to education, healthcare, economic opportunity or democracy. Instead, they focus almost solely on the Palestinian conflict and the wrongs caused by American foreign policy. The reason for this is because unlike the American media, Middle Eastern governments carefully control the media, protecting its readers from the evils of the "Zionist-Imperialist Controlled Media." They continually refer to this "Zionist Imperialist Controlled Media" (ZICM for short), to the point where it begins to stick in your head like a bad 80's song. The "Zionist Imperialist Controlled Media" derives from the country which the Iraqi media can only refer to as "Israel" (always in quotes) or that "Zionist Entity" (also in quotes). This agenda has taken over not only the Zionist Entity's sidekicks America and Britain, but also such "Zionist" strongholds as China, Turkey and the UN.
Conspiracy #1: The Israelis Were Really Behind the September 11th Terrorist Attacks
According to Abdullah Bin-Matruk Al-Haddal, our 'ally' Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Islamic Affairs: "I don't believe that the Sept. 11 attack on America was perpetrated by Bin-Laden or the Muslims. I think differently. I believe it was a scheme. What is happening now is a continuation of an ancient attack. It is a continuation of the Jewish deception and the Jewish-Zionist wickedness which infiltrates the US... I am surprised that the Christian US allows the brothers of apes and pigs to corrupt it." Another Saudi paper also came to the same conclusion. "Six Israelis suspected of involvement in the attacks on New York and Washington were arrested in the US, to be later released. This confirms our strong suspicions about the involvement of Israel's Mossad in the ugly crime. If we look carefully into this matter, we find no more influential sides in the US that the Israeli Mossad agents, who have the ability to penetrate and the capability to execute with high efficiency."
This makes perfect sense. Of course it was in Israel's interest to attack its closest ally. The Mossad is the best clandestine agency in the world, and is responsible for every evil in the world. The Iranian Press reported that "the Mossad has been organizing daily attacks on synagogues in France in order to divert French public attention from Israeli atrocities against Palestinians." The Egyptian papers reported that Israel had spread the AIDS virus among 305 Palestinian youths in Gaza and the West Bank. Osama Bin Laden and Muhammad Atta, the admitted masterminds of the 9-11 attack: Mossad agents. Let the truth be known.
Conspiracy # 2: Who was Really Responsible for the Cover Up of Enron: The Zionist Lobby
According to Arabnews.com, "The Zionist lobby has strong influence on American decision-makers. US lawmakers (Congressmen) and the American executive (presidents) are rarely elected without the support of the Zionist lobby. In the light of this, I can see only the Israeli lobby's hand in suppressing the Enron case." No word yet on whether former Enron CEO Kenneth Lay will use this information in his defense.
Conspiracy #3: The Jews Don't Just Want to Rule the World, They Want to Suck Your Blood
According to Egypt's Al-Ahram, not only do the Jews want to "destroy the world and to build it anew according to the Zionist policy so that the Jews can control the world," but they also want to "exploit [the people], and suck their blood." Saudi Arabia's Riyadh reports that the Jews have already begun their blood sucking ways. During the Jewish Holiday of Purim "human blood is spilled so it can be used for their holiday pastries. The blood is spilled in a special way." Calls from the US Food and Drug Administration regarding this have curiously not been returned.
Conspiracy #4: Iraq is a Happy Nation
The ZICM media describes Iraq as a terrible place. This is just not true. This week "All over Iraq's polling centers have witnessed spontaneous celebrations expressing solidarity and loyalty to President Hussein." According to the Iraqi media, recent visitors have "witnessed happiness atmospheres that the Iraqis expressed through their celebrations from the beginning of the Referendum Day." It is like Mardis Gras and a celebration for democracy all at once!
During the past decade following the First Gulf War, UN sanctions have crippled the economy and the health of the Iraqi people. The mortality rates for children under the age of 5 have more than doubled in a decade: from 56 deaths per 1000 live births for the period 1984-89 to 131deaths per 1000 live births for the period 1994-99. Despite this, the Government wisely invested heavily in statues, buildings, and other projects honoring the great leader. There is even a Saddam University that's goal is "Ensuring the basis of a high scientific staff that has the capabilities of creation & invention which is adopted & comprehended from the superior mind of the president Saddam Hussein." Obviously, the rule of Saddam is a time for celebration.
Conspiracy #5: The Sanctions on Iraq are Only the US's Fault
The previously mentioned US supported sanctions have really hurt the Iraqi people. The Iraq Daily incorrectly refers to them as "Stupid US sanctions" when referring to UN Security Council Resolution 661. Obviously this is a typo. According to Parliamentarian Abdul Aziz Shwaish "We have no weapons of mass destruction and the whole world knows that but Bush wants to impose his hegemony on the world and subject Iraq to his rule."
The ZICM controlled media blames Iraq for their unwillingness to compromise. Throughout the 12 years of sanctions, Iraq had the choice to extend the oil for food/medical supplies program at any time, including UN resolutions 706 and 712, which offered to enable Iraq to sell oil in order to meet its people's humanitarian needs. Obviously, this would be way too much to ask of the Iraqi regime. The Iraqi regime swore that it destroyed all weapons of mass destruction after the Gulf War. Why does the ZICM believe that just because thousands and thousands of substances destroyed by the UN inspection team have been discovered since that the Iraqi leader is lying? Also, why should Iraq be blamed for the sanctions because it values stopping weapons inspectors over the health of its people?
Conspiracy #6: There is no torture in Iraq
According to Article 22(a) of Iraq's Interim Constitution, "The dignity of man is safeguarded. It is inadmissible to cause any physical or psychological harm". This proves that Iraq could not be hurting or intimidating its people, I mean its constitution says it can't. This is confirmed by the Iraqi papers "Saddam Hussein stands as a symbol for honor, dignity, glory and free independent will." Also "we have such a great leader that is capable of saying loud clear and firm NO in the face of the evil and injustice wherever it may be." The dignified Iraqi papers, the media that knows Saddam best, report that he stands against injustice. Why does the ZICM continue to accuse him of torturing his citizens? Anyway, wouldn't it be hypocritical for Iraq to be criticizing "Israel" while oppressing its people at home?
Despite this, reports continue to leak out by ZICM controlled organizations such as Amnesty International, purporting torture of dissidents and their families. Many of the political dissidents purported to have their limbs amputated had actually signed a consent form that they had volunteered for the amputation. Amnesty International presented no evidence that these consent forms were forced, so why should we doubt the Government's contention that the amputees had actually volunteered in 'repentance' for their questioning of the great leader's regime? Another example, Najib al-Salihi, a former army general who fled Iraq in 1995 and joined the Iraqi opposition, was sent a videotape showing the rape of a female relative. Another collaborator with the ZICM is Abd al-Rahim al-Rifa'i, an Iraqi businessman who escaped to Jordan in March 1995 to tell his story of detention and torture. He was arrested for having contacts with the opposition abroad, when he escaped by bribing a prison official. While under arrest, he reported being beaten, hung upside down, and was electrically shocked in his lips and genitals. Finally, during the 1996 Olympic games, Abd al-Nafi' Mohammad worked as a member of the security staff at the headquarters of Iraq's National Olympic Committee. He was accused of stealing sports equipment from the Olympic athletes. Despite his pleading that he was innocent, he had his right hand amputated in front of many staff members as a warning against future theft. Unfortunately for him, three weeks later it turned out that the equipment had not been stolen at all, but had simply been misplaced. To compensate the falsely accused Abd al-Nafi, he received $300. Obviously, these and the thousands of other stories of torture can't be true. The American people have to ask themselves, who is more believable, Amnesty International, a respected human rights organization, or the Iraqi government?
Conspiracy #7: Iraq is More of a Democracy than America
The ZICM influenced media always talks about Iraq as a nation under siege by a tyrannical, non-democratic dictator. This is nonsense! According to the Iraq Daily, "President Saddam Hussein who created opportunities for democracy to be practiced. The democratic practice was widened in holding a referendum in 1995 when the Iraqi people for the first time freely and directly elected Saddam Hussein a President of the Republic of Iraq." This is in contrast to the American democracy where the "US administration that lacks credibility and ruled by money and Mafia." In the last three elections, the American Public has been ruled by a President that received less than half the vote. Yet, in this week's referendum, not only did Saddam Hussein receive a majority of the vote, he received 100%! Not only did President Saddam Hussein receive every single vote, but 11,445,638 voters out of an estimated 11.5 million eligible cast their vote. As compared to the "democracy" in the United States that struggles to get 45% of voters to even turn out. Devotion to democracy is so strong that one "voter pricked his right thumb with a pin and ticked 'Yes' with blood on his ballot paper. 'I vote with my blood, not my pen,' he said."
It currently is unclear whether all of the votes smeared in blood were from voters pricking their hands, or whether they were simply recycled ballots from the violence plagued 1995 referendum, when Saddam won only 99.9999999999999% of the vote. Notably absent from the voting rosters were hundreds of thousands of Kurds and Shi'a Muslims that have ''disappeared'' since the 1980's. Also missing were Ayatollah Mohammad Sadeq al-Sadr and his two sons who were killed on February 19, 1999. Shortly before he was killed, al-Sadr had spoken against government restrictions in the field of religious freedom and had called for the release of all Shi'a clerics detained in Iraq.
We're Listening Now
For our more literal readers about to write me more angry e-mails, I have written this facetiously on purpose, in order to make a point that is very serious. The source of the hatred is not that the Americans don't listen to the Arab people. The real problem is that the Arab governments are not listening to the Arab people. According to a recent Zogby International Poll , over half of Arabs reported being favorable to American freedom. In fact, the poll asked Muslims where they put this statement "I approve of democratic ideals" on a scale of 1 - 100. The average response by Muslims was around 85%, close to the ranking that religious Western Christians placed it. Finally, when ranking personal concerns among Arabs, Arabs chose work as their number 1 priority; foreign policy was 8th. This would never occur to a reader of their media, who has to thumb through to the back pages to get any information about the economy, technology, etc.
A mix of cultural, historical, political and economics have caused the tensions between our societies. America has sometimes acted like a bully. Sometimes it has also acted like a responsible superpower. Other times, it has been the bully in order to act like a responsible superpower. Most of the time, it has acted in a confusing mix of all three, and it is the part of the world you live on that determines which America you see. Tensions between nations and societies are inevitable. The reason that these tensions have turned into hatred has been the bombardment of anti-American and anti-Semitic rhetoric being forced on the Arab people. As long as America and its policies can only be seen through government controlled propaganda machines disguised as media, which foments anger at America to divert attention from the rampant corruption and lack of opportunity at home, the hatred will continue. September 11th proved that we can no longer import our oil while ignoring the freedom of the people we buy it from. Democracy has spread to every region in the world but the Middle East. Even now, advances are being made. The newspapers I read in Bahrain for example were very even-handed, and by no coincidence its people have a more positive view of America. If we do not want the Arabs to hate us, then the first thing we need to do is use our influence in the region to force the Arab governments to allow their press the freedom to discuss, debate, argue, and most of all listen to the Arab people.
