With the number of superstar DJ's milking the progressive
sound for all it's worth, there is a lot of talent that shouldn't
be overlooked in the shuffle. With his partner Etienne Overdijk,
Fred Numf has been hard at work on the production side of
things with projects like Fred Numf vs. Five Point O, and
Perpetual Two. Numf's first mix CD, Universal Language shows
off the slamming skills of the progressive house DJ on an
extensive double disc release. While both progressive and
equally excellent, the first is a bit more melodic with tunes
by Peace Division, Prototype, and Knights Groove while disc
two is a straight up rhythmic and heavy dose of hard-hitting
club tracks from Bedrock, Numf, label mate DJ Tiësto
and more. All of the tracks and pieced together with excellent
programming and mixing skills ala Sasha & Digweed and
features just as impressive packaging for the release. -JH
