This record doesn't exactly fit our 'electronic' music format but as Lo Recordings said, sometimes you have to look back to move forward. This stellar collection is the sequel to the first Nuggets compilation and is a chance to check out some music you might have never got your hands on. It's too bad the Austin Powers producers didn't include any of these tunes in the new flick because they're perfect. On Further Nuggets, Luke Vibert of all people have put together a collection of sound library recordings, many of which are from France in the 70's. Don't let the sound library aspect turn you off, this is in no way boring stock music but a compilation of campy funk, jazz, rock and bossa nova that will surely bring back memories of your favorite old TV shows and cheesy sci-fi flicks. Further Nuggets shoves the imagination into overdrive and offers the perfect soundtrack for whatever in a time many musicians are trying to create the same effect but just aren't getting it right in the way Esquivel did. It's too bad porn soundtracks aren't this good. - JH
