Luke Temple has got it all. The total package - earnest
songs presented in terrifically vibrant fashion, ranging from
rocking full band arrangements to tender, intimate solo voice
and guitar tunes. "B-Bird" kicks off this preview EP,
in pure Matthew Sweet type indie rock goodness. Immediately,
I found myself wanting to hear more of this Luke Temple
but I was even more amazed when I heard the strains of "Make
Right With You" coming from my speakers. Acoustic guitar
and viciously honest songwriting reminiscent of Bob Dylan's
salad days mixed with just a hint of Nick Drake's subtle
perplexing power seemed to be capturing my attention and drawing
me in for more. "In The End" only deepened my wide-eyed
newly formed love of Mr. Temple
You know, I can't resist
a really well sung falsetto over xylaphonic instrumentation. "Paint
It Blue" re-affirmed my Nick Drake thoughts, and lulled me
back into a moon-eyed trance
And then, as soon as it had
begun, it was over.
Please, Please, Luke Temple, send us your full length record
when it comes out - I can hardly wait.
