In a time of pop-punk bands virtually sprouting out of our ears,
this new band fits in nicely. Valencia is following perfectly
in the footsteps of bands like Hawthorne Heights, Fall
Out Boy, and fellow tour associates Boys Like Girls.
With This Could Be A Possibility being their debut release
they are right where they're supposed to be: the beginning. The
album doesn't give you a whole lot more variety than their predecessors,
yet it shows definite promise. To get their pop-punk sound they
mix happy-go-lucky lyrics, light drums and some chipper guitar.
Sure, there may be an underlying darker tone or theme to the album
that the band is trying to go for. But unfortunately, like any
other pop-punk band, you just get mostly songs to jump around
to.
The key to their success could be sticking with a band that's
already taking off. And touring with Boys Like Girls will do
just that. Between the two of them you're going to have one
great show. This album has a good sound to it and the band has
the makings of the next F.O.B.
