Wow, this band has got one impressive resume. It all starts with
Scott West himself who has been composing, arranging and producing
movie, video, commercial and television soundtracks for 15 years.
Next he mixed in a little bit of talent beginning with former Stevie
Ray Vaughan guitarist Timmy Barnes, next was former "The
System" and "DC-10" guitarist/vocalist Perry Clark,
and it even features current Cake bassist Gabe Nelson.
You top it all off with Scott's high vocals that have had him compared
to Freddie Mercury and you've got a one-of-a-kind album.
The entire album has a definite sound that would fit perfectly in
the 1980s, alongside groups such as: David Bowie, The Beatles,
and Pink Floyd. A good example is in the song "I Could
Never Go For You"; while listening to this song, another song
kept trying to creep into my head. Finally, I figured out that I was
hearing a strong influence of "Roxanne" by The Police.
This influence fits right along with the Freddie Mercury sound that
is very apparent in the high notes heard in "Oh Boy". Although
you get a little bit of a more modern sound in "Fallback",
which is a rather mellow song that could fit on a Coldplay
album, for the most part this CD is all rock.
