You're sitting at your computer staring blankly at the screen,
trying desparately to think. Think of music, genres, opinion,
essentially...the review. Otherwise know as "writer's block",
it can hinder a reviewers' ability greatly. I had this problem
when I stuck in A Change Of Pace's newest album Prepare
The Masses. How did I break out of it? I saw them live.
It just so happened that A Change Of Pace was playing a show
with fellow rockers Moneen and Alexisonfire last
night in my area. How else to better experience their music than
to see them play it live? And I was right. Their album brings
such an energy and sound that it can only be topped by their concert.
A couple of my favorite songs from the album were "Weekend
Warriors" and "White Lines and Lipstick". These
songs proved to be crowd favorites as well. However, the song
I most enjoyed was "War In Your Bedroom", but it did
not get played, despite the persistent audience member requesting
it.
After the evening was over, I had an excellent pop-punk album
complete with everything from some Metallica, a little
Hawthorne Heights, and a tad touch of The Starting Line.
Not to mention the energy-filled live show complete with synchronized
head-banging. Excellente!
