What the fuck is up with this crap? I can't believe I listened to this as much as I did. Seriously, this band has some major issues if they think this shit is going to fly with me.

Rock operas are a risky venture; creating an album that lasts over an hour, another risky venture; and interspersing catchy beats and vocal lines into ten-minute songs? Well, that last one is okay, but still on the edge of risky. I just can't wrap my brain around why this band would throw so many unfeasible elements together. Don't they realize that this sum would be far greater than the whole infeasibility of it all? I respect them for trying new scenarios, but man, I wanted to poke myself in the eye with a sharp pencil halfway through the first song.

There are some eclectic choices that are made which should result in a decent album; strong vocals by both singers, good guitar lines and synthetic beats, different changes, and non-standard lyrics. It is the amalgamation of all these parts that just kill, rather than save, the album. The singers vary perspectives within songs and mix up any sort of theme they create to the point of confusion. The guitar lines are memorable and inventive, but thrown together in haphazard fashion, which destroys the intended feel. The lyrics read like a novel, a novel I don't care to read; each song is a short story with no apparent point, and moreover makes no more sense reading it than listening to the inaneness of it. If it was some sort of joke, I don't get it- because it is funny in a sad way, not ha-ha way.

The entire piece just comes off as presumptive and pompous, and any technical depth the band achieves is lost in the melee, because they don't even attempt to make the music accessible to the common listener. It just pains me because there are good aspects to this album, and I believe this band could do something special. I don't get it, but maybe you will. But until then I am left with saying: Bad band, baaaad band.
