What Made Milwaukee Famous
Trying To Never Catch Up
Barsuk Records

What Made Milwaukee Famous? Well it wasn't this band, because they're from Austin. But it has helped promote the Texas music scene a little. Though changing the name to What Made Austin Famous, just doesn't seem the same.

Trying To Never Catch Up is their debut LP and was just released off of a small indie label: Barsuk Records, also not in Milwaukee, but rather Seattle. I don't know a whole lot about this band, but I don't really need to, their music speaks for itself. Death Cab For Cutie, Radiohead, Jeff Buckley, Snow Patrol, and even The Beatles are all names that come to mind when listening to this album. Their music is smooth, melodic and fresh. And at the same time their lyrics are sentimental, intelligent and angst-filled.

11 songs that can make you laugh or cry, pout or smile. Ok, maybe not laugh. But definitely feel an emotion or two. Check them out; maybe someday they will make Milwaukee famous. If all else, they will sure help Austin.
